The phrases, "you've changed!" and, "you've come a long way" offend my sensibilities.

The phrases, "you haven't changed a bit!" And, "you'll never change," also offend my sensibilities.

Everyone's trying to prove something. It's just a matter of how wholesome that thing is.

And when you stop trying to prove something positive, you're in dangerous territory.

You've changed into someone who I accuse of having changed.

I changed into someone who can handle change.

It's not just that we rejoice IN the sacrifice, but rejoicing IS a sacrifice. We sacrifice our miserable old selves, we sacrifice our social standing with the wretched many, we sacrifice our chance for people to say, "you haven't changed a bit."

There are many channels by which people who are wrong can make the case that they are right.

Warm milk has calcium, which helps with heartburn, which helps you sleep. Grandma was right.

I need to become contented all the time! I'm so unsatisfied with my current amount of contentment.

There are two kinds of misery: misery itself, and feeling like you have to change that. You can get rid of the second one.

True renunciation is not eating a lot of chocolate.

People who say you reach enlightenment when you stop seeking it are still thinking about it all the time.

 That includes me then.

Seemingly sunk costs sometimes have hidden value.

Respect others, trust yourself, be willing to fight for those you love, and speak the truth.
